How To Use A GPS Watch

Want to keep track of your children without “treating them like a baby”? Then give them a GPS wristwatch that they can use and not be wiser about the fact that mom and dad are keeping track of them.

One thing that you might want to buy for yourself, or possibly someone will buy for you on your birthday or Christmas, is the GPS watch. These watches are just like any other watch except they contain a tiny GPS device inside them. There are many uses for GPS watches and we will state some of them here (more to follow in later missives).

Kids GPS Watch

Want to keep track of your children without “treating them like a baby”? The easiest solution here is to give them a GPS wristwatch that they can use and not be wiser about the fact that mom and dad are keeping track of them via the GPS watch. A child GPS watch can help you instantly pinpoint your child’s location and put your mind at ease. Getting a GPS watch for kids will definitely give you peace of mind that you did not have before.

GPS For Runners

Runners are some of the biggest beneficiaries of the invention of the GPS watch. The running watch has definitely evolved into the GPS genre. The biggest reason is that by using a GPS running watches, runners can not only keep time but they can see how far they have run and be able to see how long it took them to run that last mile. And what is more is that it will be more accurate than the typical pedometer in figuring out the distance that the runner has traveled. With GPS, running has definitely turned more high tech than ever before. Garmin has developed a nice wrist GPS watch called the Garmin Forerunner. The newest generation of Garmin Forerunner GPS watch can monitor heart rate and work with a sensor you place in your shoe just in case you are working in an indoor facility and are not traveling great distances (and instead are just running around a circle). With the Garmin Forerunner 201 GPS watch, for instance, has what they call your “virtual training partner”. This training partner appears as a tiny runner on the Garmin forerunner that runs beside you at the pace that you pre-select that you want to go on your training run. If it goes too far ahead of you, you know you need to pick up the pace. Similarly, if you are ahead of the training partner you know to either slow down to keep the pace you want or simply know that you are beating your pace. Either way, if gives you a visual representation of your progress which is invaluable to runners.

Whether its keeping track of children with GPS watches or using a Garmin Forerunner GPS watch, you will be amazed at how easy it is to incorporate GPS technology into your everyday lives. The best place to get one of these GPS watches is to search online as you will usually get the best price and selection and pay little to nothing for shipping.
